Butterfly conservationists deep in the Amazon Basin of Peru hatch butterfly eggs of several different species. Once the caterpillars hatch they are released into the wild for the Amazon ecosystem to remain stable and balanced. The conservationists count the number of days until the caterpillars’ transition to pupa, this is when they are recollected for the sanctuary. Once the pupa breaks though the cocoon as a butterfly, they reproduce, laying eggs for the next generation. The butterflies will naturally pass of old age. This is when they are collected and sold to Silver Tree Design's silversmiths for transformation into vibrant silver encased jewelry. Silver Tree Design purchases all the varieties of butterfly to ensure the continuation of balanced species breeding.
